This moderate paced walk, starts at Canary Wharf Jubilee Line Station (a few minutes' walk from the DLR and Elizabeth Line stations, if you prefer them to the Jubilee Line) and we meet in Reuters Plaza, which is just outside the main exit (I’ll stand next to the large 3D “Canary Wharf” sign). There are toilets in the Jubilee Place shopping mall on the south side of the station (at same level as ticket barriers), which are usually open. Please use them before joining the walk. More toilets should be available when we reach the Tower Bridge area.
We will walk down to the river, at Canary Wharf Pier, and then use the Thames Path (and some roads), through Limehouse and Wapping, to Tower Bridge. From there we’ll walk over the bridge and then alongside the river to Waterloo station. There are many interesting sights, along the way, and I’ll share some information about the ones I know.
Lunch (30 minutes) will be taken somewhere along the Thames Path, so please bring a packed lunch (I’ll aim for sometime between 12 and 1pm, for lunch).
There are numerous potential drop out points along the way, with regular bus services close to the path, and train/tube/DLR stations not too far from the path. All within the Oyster/Freedom Pass area.
Start time is when the walk commences. Please arrive earlier to ensure you are ready for a prompt start.
**Please note that while I think the pace of my walks fits the Ramblers' description of "Moderate" some walkers have said that they find my pace (2 to 2.5 miles per hour) a bit faster than they prefer. But please note that is the pace of my walks**
