A local walk on paths and tracks visiting a ruined 16th century castle and an 18th Century doocot.
We will catch the 09:28 train from Craigendoran to Cardross arriving at Cardross at 09:33.
Our New Year walk combines splendid views across the Clyde with visits to local historical features and pleasant woodland paths. We walk from Cardross Station to Kilmahew Castle and then follow paths and farm tracks to Darleith House. We return to Craigendoran via Service’s Wood, Camis Eskan dovecot and walled garden.
Local Grade: C+
Terrain: Forestry tracks, farm tracks, country paths, quiet lanes and rough hill paths. Undulating terrain but no steep ascents or descents. Likely to be very wet and muddy in places.
