This very popular village not only has a coach park for us to use, it has caves to visit and gives us walkers the opportunity to climb Lose Hill and the Man Tor Ridge Path, or the woods of Cavedale. There is also a Castle to explore should you be up for the climb after your walk. With a number of cafes and pubs for refreshments before departing for home. You can be sure that coach seats will sell fast.
There will be three walks on offer, with details circulated on the coach. They will range from easy to strenuous depending on the walk selected.
A Walk Leader - Derek Hulse
B Walk Leader - Janet Loines - A circular walk of approximately 8 miles with 1500ft of ascent. We leave Castleton along a number of field paths before reaching the disused Obin Mine and the Mam Tor road, also disused. Then continuing up to the summit of Mam Tor (1696ft) and along to Lose Hill (1561ft) before dropping down to Losehill Hall and back to Castleton.
C Walk Leader - Cathy Collins
