This figure-eight route is one of the finest walks in the Western Peaks. It stays mainly on well-established footpaths—nothing too adventurous! I led this exact route for the S40s back on 30/07/2017.
After starting from Chinley, we will ascend Cracken Edge, then Quarry, Hills Farm, after that we will pass Far Phoside and Hayfield, then taking the Snake Path towards Spray Wood, Taiga Farm, then ascending the Lantern Pike, Pennine Bridleway, Andrews Farm, and return to Chinley.
Sign-Up: Please text the walk leader your name(s), and stating if not Ramblers member(s) by 8.00 pm the day before.
Please note that the estimated finish time is a guide only. Our return will depend on the group's pace and weather conditions on the day.
Toilets at Hayfield.
Please ensure you are fully booted and equipped, ready to start walking by 9:00 am. We will begin promptly at 9:00 am sharp.
