This circular 10 mile ramble on well marked paths goes through some delightful Chiltern countryside with a mix of open farm land, conifer and broadleaf woodland, open valleys, views of the Aylesbury Vale and a Iron Age Fort. At approximately half way we will stop for a picnic lunch or alternatively use the new Forestry Commission Cafe in the heart of Wendover Woods. Near the end of the walk we will pass through an Iron Age Fortress.
On this route there are several stiles, three long hill climbs and at least one steep decline
The paths are generally good but those across farmland can be muddy after rain so strong waterproof footwear is necessary.
The only public toilets are at the lunch time stop at the Forestry Commission centre. There are plenty of wooded areas on the route. There is a pub near the finish.
Free parking is possible near the Cricket pavilion or along the edge of the Common on Cholesbury Lane
