Southport Ramblers welcome all age groups from 8 to 80+ for fortnightly worry-free walking (travelling by coach) with like-minded people throughout the year.
Also known as the "No Coach, make your own way threre" walk, this year's Christmas Walk will start from the canal bridge next to the Running Horses pub, Bells Lane, Lydiate, Maghull, L31 4EN at 10.00am and will be around 7.5 to 8 miles.
The walk is free and open to everyone, non-members are most welcome, so bring your aunts and uncles, friends and neighbours.
We would expect to finish around 1.30 to 2.00pm bepending on the weather, food and drink will be available at the Running Horses afterwards should you wish to put back on the pounds you have just walked off.
To try and avoid the muddy or flooded fields seen of late, this walk will make full use of both a section of the Trans Pennine Way and the towpath along part of the Leeds to Liverpool Canal. With the southern link being along the pavement of the B5422, and the northern link being on good footpaths and back lanes. There will be a short stop for refreshments, so bring some food and drink.
Dogs welcome but must must be kept on a short lead.
