Overview

The walk follows headlands, a well maintained byway, and 4  short stretches of road the last of which has a pavement.  Rattlesden Parish Church comes at the end of the walk which we will visit.

Two styles have to be negotiated within the first half mile of the walk, the 2nd of which is slippery and has a loose lower slab so be prepared to assist each other where necessary.  There are several short bridges to cross, one of which slopes downwards and can also be slippery. Virtually the whole route is on level ground but sticky in places.

To locate the pavilion, turn into Birds Green either before, or immediately after, the bend on Lower Road where it crosses the River Rat. As you approach the bend on Birds Green the pavilion is straight ahead, signposted at ground level. There is a parking charge of £1 per person.
