Cissbury by a different route

Walk starts from the Chippendale Cricket Club car park, goes across the Rotary and Hillbarn recreation grounds over Hillbarn Lane and into a single file path that wends its way around the golf club house then along the South side of the golf course to meet the main path by the new fancy-pants care home that will take us up to Cissbury Ring. This path is stony and slippery with leaves and chalk underfoot. Further up there is mud and puddles. Robust footwear and poles are advised. We will walk around the entire Ring stopping at the bench facing Chanctonbury Ring for a coffee break. Suggest you bring your foam sitting pads because we won’t all fit on the bench. Once around the Ring we will return by a different route coming down the East side of the golf course back to Hillbarn Lane and the recreation grounds. There is a shortcut route half way up which tracks the perimeter of the golf course for those who do not wish to do the full Ring walk.
