Clumber to many people means a walk around the lake. This walk touches the lake, but then we head for the path on the south side, before turning back, again heading for paths less well-known.
It is usually very quiet, away from the crowds. There may be grazing cattle in one of the fields, but provided you give them a wide berth, I have never known them take any interest in us.
We will be walking through trees and over parkland. The paths are flat and there are no stiles.
There are toilets and a cafe at the beginning/end of the walk, and a small cafe and toilets halfway round at Hardwick Village, but I am not planning to stop there for lunch.
There will be a coffee stop and a lunch stop, but seating is very limited.
There is ample car parking. National Trust members enter free, but otherwise there is a £6 to enter the park.
We will meet between the cafe and the toilet block at the main visitor centre.
