Margaret and Alan will be leading a lovely, and relatively easy, circular walk starting from the car park at Friday Street (nearest postcode RH5 6JR) with views on the way of a mill pond, pretty cottages and the pools created by the Tillingbourne. A steady gentle ascent through woodland with dappled shade, on good paths, to Coldharbour. Here there is the option for lunch in the Plough, a classic country pub, or a picnic adjacent. The shop next to the Plough also sells pies, sausage rolls, drinks etc…
After lunch a further steady ascent to the top of Leith Hill - the highest point in Surrey - but worry not, we earned most of the height gained through the morning walk. Time here for a coffee while taking in the views to the south and then we head off on established paths through woodland again on a steady descent to the cars at Friday Street. Most of this walk is quite easy with just a couple of very short, but steep, ascent / descents.
