Meeting point: Start of Knockhillbraehead Path, (Near the fire damaged Lanark Road Children's Nursery, 305 Lanark Road, EH14 2LL ).
This is on the south side of Lanark Road near the Dovecot Park bus stop.
There is parking available on Dovecot Park, Kingsknowe Road South or maybe on Lanark Road.
Meeting time: 9:45am for 10:00am start
Walk Length: 7.5 miles, ascent 100m
Walk: the walk is via Colinton Dell through the tunnel, Dreghorn Loan and the Polofields to the foothills of the Pentlands.
Return via Dreghorn Woods, skirting the perimeter of Dreghorn Barracks, across Redford Wood, path past Colinton Primary School, Tesco and Redhall House, reaching Lanark Road near Dovecot Grove.
Although not too much ascent, there are steps in places. Walk mainly on paths and pavements but can be muddy in places.
