The walk will explore the lovely grounds of Penicuik House before joining the path along the River North Esk back to Penicuik. Continuing down the valley, using the former railway route, we pass through Auchendinny, then over the Firth viaduct before descending to the remains of the gunpowder factory in Roslin Glen. The final stretch of the walk involves climbing a long flight of steps (Jacob’s Ladder) leading to the chapel and the village.
We will meet at the bus stop by the Original Rosslyn Inn to catch a bus to Penicuik town centre (near Lidl, B&M). Bus times are 09.32 or 09.42.
If you would like to join us, please Text the Walk Leader to book a place in advance, noting that for some walks places may be limited.
