We are the London Strollers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A linear walk of about five miles which starts a new series of walks following every metre of south east London's pioneering Green Chain Walk network, plus more, starts with the green and blue highlights of Thamesmead including the riverside, Crossway Park, Southmere Lake, the mysterious tumps and Lesnes Abbey ruins. The route is mainly level but with some slopes and unsurfaced paths. Famously, Thamesmead doesn't yet have a station but there are frequent buses from Abbey Wood station with buses SL3 or 244 from Stop C recommended.
A joint walk with Blackheath Ramblers which should finish by about 13.30.
