At the time of writing, the weather forecast for this weekend is for another 30C+ heatwave, combined with low winds (and expected from an atypical direction). As a result the leader is considering a variety of options as to how to keep walkers suitably cool. The West Mendip ridges look like a reasonable option in terms of finding breezes from whatever direction they're coming, some shady tree-covered routes up to the top, as well as a plethora of lower level refreshment points to top up on water, and ice cream for anyone in need of such. The final decision on specific route will be taken nearer the time, depending especially on the wind forecast.
