This is a visit to an amazing land art installation created by Charles Jencks, where a major land restoration project has transformed a former open cast coal mine into a spectacular artland.
The intention is that the group splits up once there and looks round the place as we see fit. Probably, there isn't much more than two miles involved but folks will be free to go back and forth as much as they wish. So probably more of a visit then a walk!
There is a nice picnic area there to have an early coffee break and we could perhaps meet back at the picnic area at 12.30 p.m. for our packed lunch (coffees and biscuits only available at the Multiverse) and decide if we wish to explore further after that. I had recced Euchan Glen at Sanquhar as an add-on and it turned out to be a lovely walk 3 miles long. However, I think probably folks will enjoy spending a lot of time at Crawick and it is going to be dark earlier than when I had first put the walk on the programme.
Car sharing from the Biggar Corn Exchange at 9.15, moving on to Crawfordjohn Hall (ML12 6SR) for 9.45 to arrange further car sharing for the final drive to Crawick Multiverse
ML12 post code walkers should bring identification as they are entitled to a discount in the admission cost and if there are more than 10 of us that also gives a discount on the cost of admission.
