Crimdon to Nesbitt Hall
An easy to moderate 8 mile "Winter walk", with plenty of good paths to help minimise any mud, and very few stiles to climb. Commencing at Crimdon Beach car park (near to the Dune cafe), we head down some good concrete steps into Crimdon Park and make our way south west to cross the railway line and join the Hart to Haswell walkway heading north west. We leave the walkway at Hesleden Hall and continue west to Monk Hesleden before turning south, crossing through an abandoned church yard dating back over 200 years, and down into Hesleden Dene. Climbing out of the dene we head on past Nesbitt Hall for approximately half a mile to our lunch stop to consume any leftover Turkey and sweet mince pies. After lunch we head east to Hart village and then north east towards Crimdon Beach car park, enjoying the beautiful coastal views. Due to the extra travel time from Chester le Street please note that the Starting time is 10.45am.
Dave Marshall has kindly offered the option of a shorter walk.
