Overview

Walking south to the start of the ascent through pastures and around the farm to go over two summits. Heading in a north westerly direction to Woodcock Coppice. A path is taken to reach Alport Castles along the ridge escarpment. Here there is a descent to the farm crossing the river Alport and in using the farm track we head to the Snake Pass Road to cross, leading to another river crossing by either a bridge or Ford dependant on how high the water level is. The lower path is taken to ascend back up to Woodcock Coppice passing Rowlee Bridge, crossing back over the Snake-pass Road, Rowlee farm to follow the track back to the top. Heading in a south easterly direction of Hag Side a track is taken to the left to descend to the road where good views of Derwent Edge and Dams of the upper valley can be sighted. On reaching the road either the path or reservoir route may be taken to reach the cars.
