We will set off from Croy Station heading in a NW direction towards Croy Hill. Croy Hill loosely follows the Antonine Wall, the top of Croy Hill opens up great views over towards Auchinstarry. At the foot of Croy Hill we have a break, accompanied by a Centurion guarding the Antonine Wall. We will then move onto the canal path element towards Bonnybridge, at this point we stop for lunch in close proximity to a Greggs and Tesco express, ideal for a cold drink.
The final elements of the walk take us back to the Antonine Wall, passing above the Falkirk wheel and onto Falkirk High railway station.
The John Muir way follows good track and paths. Having said that, in one or two places poles might be of use if you prefer to use them. Gaiters are not necessary, however decent footwear advisable.
This walk is between two railway stations, so I intend to let the train take the strain.
The preferred train departs Kilwinning railway station at 08.33 arrives at Glasgow Central at 09. 12.
Departs Glasgow Queen St at 09.45. and arrives at Croy at 09.59
