Cruach Tairbeirt is a scenic hill located in the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, Scotland. The walk up Cruach Tairbeirt is a challenging 10km out-round and-back trail that starts at Arrochar. The trail first leads you along the Three Lochs Way and through Kenmore Woods, following a stream before opening up and continuing to the summit.
The ascent offers stunning views of Loch Lomond, Loch Long, and the surrounding mountains and lochs. The path can be steep and muddy in places, especially after heavy rainfall, so appropriate footwear, gaiters and poles, if you use them, are recommended. There is a steep grassy section which may involve a modest amount of easy scrambling.
At the summit, you'll be rewarded with panoramic views, making the effort worthwhile.
The descent is by a different route through the forest, which is reasonably straightforward, but care is required due to mud and tree roots if there has been heavy rain in the preceding days.
