Starting at the Pay & Display car park ( free in winter) the route is via Dale Castle to St. Ann's Head and following the Coast Path back into Dale village (where toilets are available) Mostly Coast Path with a few steep but short ups and downs. Visitors welcome but not suitable for young children. Expect mud in places after rain.
