We are the Rochdale Ramblers. The Rochdale Group was established in October 1994 and are part of the Manchester and High Peak Area of the Ramblers Association. We welcome new and potential members to join our walks.
This is a walk with great scenery and lots of inclines in the hilly and rough terrain outside Todmorden.
IMPORTANT UPDATE from walk leader 8/12/25
I have just done the recce. It's EXTREMELY wet underfoot.
The walk is 8.5 miles but there are plenty of opportunities to cut it short if the weather is awful or to extend it if the weather is fine!
There are quite a few slippery stiles plus one or two very steep (and slippery) uphill climbs.
The first third of the walk is quite high and exposed so if the weather is cold and windy people need to be prepared with additional layers.
Please note that dogs (other than assistance dogs) are not allowed on our walks.
