Overview

The walk starts at Dorchester West Railway Station and takes us around the impressive Iron Age fort at Maiden Castle. We will climb to the South Dorset Ridgeway with its lovely views over Weymouth Bay before dropping down to Upwey.

We will then walk along one of the Wey Valley walks and Lodmoor Country Park until we reach Weymouth Esplanade which we will follow to Weymouth Railway Station.

This walk is joint with Wessex Wanderers and so will start after the arrival of the train from Bristol (expected at Dorchester West station at 1009). It is a linear walk so the return train will leave Weymouth at 17.28. Alternatively, there are several buses to Dorchester
