Overview

We will catch the No 1 bus from Kings Street in Weymouth at 10.50, and go to Portland Heights where the walk will begin.

Portland Heights provides excellent views along the Fleet towards Abbotsbury and there are more  lovely views as we descend by the Merchant's Incline to Portland Castle. After passing the castle we will follow the old railway route until we reach at Rodwell Trail near the site of the Whitehead Torpedo factory (Weymouth depths!). We will leave the Rodwell Trail at Sandsfoot Castle and follow the South West Coast Path into Weymouth via Nothe Fort peninsula.

We will return to Weymouth Railway station as a linear walk.
