This is a linear walk from Owd Betts to Queen's Park. We are meeting at Queen's Park where walkers will sort themselves in groups of 4 (or possibly 2 or 3). Each group will have 2 drivers (A&B). The A driver will take the group to the start of the walk. At the end of the walk the B driver will take the group back to the start of the walk. (Please try to bring a couple of plastic bags in case you are getting a lift and need to cover muddy boots!)
Following a circuit of Ashworth reservoir, we will pass Buckhurst Lodge and go down Croston Close Road to Scotland Lane. We'll then climb slightly to view Ashworth Valley before descending via lanes and field paths to Birtle Lane, Gristlehurst Lane and then back to Ashworth valley. The walk offers extensive views and is a mixture of moorland, field paths quiet lanes and woodland. There are a few sections which may be muddy. Four stiles.
