Walkers must book in advance with the walk leader
A gentle hill walk from Killearn visiting Dumfoyn and passing, or climbing for those who wish, Dumgoyne. Dumfoyn is the less well known and more rounded neighbour of Dumgoyne.
We walk out of Killearn through Kirkhouse Wood to join a rough moorland path that links to a farmtrack leading immediately below the north side of Dumfoyn. We ascend Dumfoyn up a short hill path to the summit. We descend via short sections of open hillside to join hill paths leading to the “pipeline track”, which we follow back into Killearn.
Local Grade: B
Terrain: Country footpaths, rough moorland tracks and hill paths with short boggy sections. Short sections of open hillside. Although most uphill is gradual, there are a few steep ascents and descents in the vicinity of Dumfoyn and Dumgoyne.
Max height: 426 m
