Overview

This is a slightly harder variant on the previous seven hills Cannock Chase walk, with a new hill added and different routing.  The total ascent is about 1100ft and includes steps and a few short but steep and potentially slippery ups and downs.  Poles can be helpful.  Underfoot is generally good on a combination of single-file paths and wider tracks: no stiles.  We start from the Punch Bowl car park and almost immediately begin the first climb in the Satnall hills before crossing back over the main road at Milford Common.  If the weather is kind we will have good views to the north and east during the walk.

We will pause for a coffee break at the Stepping Stones (about 11:30) and have a lunch stop on the penultimate hill so bring refreshments.

There is potential for recovery afterwards at the Barley Mow pub in Milford.
