Every Step Of The Way (ESOTW) is a unique event that has taken a number of years to get from concept to operation. Essentially the South Downs Way (SDW) is being celebrated both through artistic interpretation and physical activity. The SDW is divided into 10 sections with 3 artist assigned per section to provide their interpretations which is accompanied by a number of Walk activities from various points along the way. The event has already started currently based in the Arc (in Winchester) and will move to the Weald & Downland in September. I am delighted to say that South West Sussex will support the length from Buriton to Amberley with a number of walks across the months of September to December.
There will be 4 “base locations” yielding 7 walks in total.
All follow along the South Downs Way from West to East across the South West Sussex Ramblers Group Footprint, in total covering around 14 miles of the SDW.
All of the walks are “out and back” so if you choose when “enough is enough” and simply turn back.
Target length is between 4.5 and 6.5 miles for each walk but this might vary depending on the participants & weather.
Planning to have just 1 stop at the half way mark for liquid refreshment and a snack.
Where the Artists join us we may have an interlude along the route while they explain what particularly stimulated their artwork.
