We meet in the grounds of Risby Park Fishing Ponds,and Folly Lake Cafe.Please meet in the top car park ,nearest to the entrance
The walk is mostly pastoral, full of open spaces. It is hilly in parts and there are historical references.
Walking down Dunflat Road, for a short distance, we take the track to Skidby. From here we head to Skidby Windmill and historic Gallows Hill. Sheep rustlers would need to avoid this place between 1660 and 1685.Walking safely by Gallows Hill,we head back to Skidby.From here we join part of the Beverley 20 and High Hunsley Circuit. Walking into Risby Park we enter a nature reserve that includes Silver Fir and Sodwall Plantation. Walking by Hornsea Belts we encounter Low Daw Hill, FishPond Wood and back to the cars.
The owner of the car park / Folly Lake Cafe has kindly let us use the parking area . Please use top car park nearest to the entrance. The cafe is open from 10am until 3pm.Cash payment is preferred as mobile signal is poor.
This walk is hilly in places
As always, new walkers are welcome but please make yourselves known to the walk leaders first .
At the time of the recce 7/11/24 no cattle encountered in fields a bit muddy in places.
Dogs are welcome but on short leads please
