The walk starts from Kiplingcotes. We walk along (Wilberforce Way, Hudson Way, we walk under Chalk Bridge up to Maidens Grave, we walk under Michaels Bridge, past Etton Field Farm, we turn north onto Gardham Road, back onto Wilberforce Way, then turn north past Etton West Wood, and head east back on the road that leads back to Kiplingcotes Car Park.
The Hudson Way is a 10-mile walk, cycle and bridleway connecting Market Weighton with Beverley along the disused railway line.
The route is named after George Hudson, the so-called “Railway King” who controlled a significant amount of the country’s railways and built the first part of the line, before his ultimate downfall into ruin.
When I did the reccy in February, the Hudson track was muddy, but I am hoping it might have dried out for this walk.
