Starting from the Waters Edge centre in Barton upon Humber, we will make our under the Humber Bridge and continue along the Viking Way from Barton to South Ferriby. We will have great views of the River Humber on one side with views of the North Bank, and views of Far Ings nature reserve on the other side. We will walk past a local farm (home to sheep and pigs - behind fences!) and will continue along the coastline towards South Ferriby.
We will stop for lunch on the cliff top and continue further along the coastal path. A short walk through the village of South Ferriby which is slightly hilly, back up towards the Viking Way. We will then continue along this route back towards Barton upon Humber going through Far Ings nature reserve, home to lots of ponds and different wildlife including a variety of birds. The views should still be nice and autumnal in the middle of November.
Once we get back to Barton, there are a couple of options for anyone wanting to stay for refreshments. Weather dependent, we can enjoy a hot brew at the Viking Way outdoor café with views of the Humber Bridge. If it is raining, we can head over to the Waters Edge centre to sit indoors for some refreshments.
