Overview

From Forden we climb up through woodland to reach the earthworks of Beacon Hill fort, where from the southern boundary there are fabulous views to the east, south and west. Then a descent to Buttington Bridge on the River Severn. The path then follows the river and a short section of the Montgomery canal, then rejoins the river for a further 3.5 miles leaving it at Derwas Bridge for the final c2 miles to Four Crosses.
