Walkers must book in advance with the walk leader
A flat walk from near Kirkintilloch to the centre of Glasgow passing the modern bridges at Stockingfield Junction and the renovated warehouses at Spiers Wharf.
We meet at Glasgow Buchanan Street bus station to catch a bus to The Stables at Hayston (Kirkintilloch) and walk back along the canal through Stockingfield Junction to Spiers Wharf. From here we walk through Glasgow to Charing Cross Station, stopping for coffee if desired, before catching a train back to Helensburgh.
Local Grade: C+ but only due to distance
Terrain: Flat, hard, dry surfaces throughout. (Stout walking shoes recommended – boots/gaiters not required)
Max height: 70 m.
