Slightly out of Coalville Ramblers area, I hope you can join me on this walk from Rearsby and taking in the villages of Hoby, Frisby on the Wreake and Gaddesby. The walk is over mainly Farm and Grazing land and initially follows the river Wreake and the Wreake Valley. The first part is following the Leicestershire round before joining well marked footpaths. There are no major hills but a couple of steady climbs on the second half of the walk.
A few stiles on the way round but no particularly difficult ones.
Possibility of toilets and coffee at the The Bell Inn Frisby on the Wreake at the lunch stop.
This is an ideal opportunity for car sharing and parking is on street.
It was quite muddy in places when the planning walk was done on the 24th Feb.
The walk is mainly over farmland with very little road walking. The 13th century All Saints church is the main attraction in Hoby along with racehorse trainer Jenny Pitman being born there. Danish invaders named Frisby along with the river, Wreake referring to the meandering nature of the river. Gaddesby, a small close knit community of singers, dancers, musicians and so much more.
I have graded the walk moderate but it should be noted the walk is between 11.5 and 12 miles.
