This is a wonderful woodland walk mainly on established paths of the Sandstone Trail. The views across the Mersey Estuary are breathtaking with the Liverpool cathedrals visible to the naked eye 8 miles away. Height gain of 400ft is spaced over one mile to reach the top of Helsby Crag; and, 500ft is gained over 2 miles at the end of the walk. The rest of the ascent comes from gradual undulations.
