Starting at the ‘Dirty Duck’ in Woolsthorpe by Belvoir, we head east along the Grantham canal to
Harlaxton. Leaving the canal, we take the field path to Denton Reservoir and from there up to the village of Denton. The return route takes us out of the village to where the road crosses the disused mineral railway built to serve Denton quarry which will take us back to the Grantham canal near to our starting point.
Most of the walk is on good paths including the canal towpath and the track bed of the disused railway. There is a short section of field paths, but these are well used. There is also a short length of road walking. There is one stile and the path on the final 50 meters of our route descending to the Grantham canal has suffered weather damage but is usable with a little care.
If you would like to join this walk please contact the Leader using the email link. Numbers are limited to 20 walkers.
