An easy walk out of Brampton along the Dandy line to Brampton Station followed by walk (road and fields to Talkin Tarn (refreshments and Toilets).Round the Tarn and on to Talkin village using local roads then footpaths to High Gelt Bridge.
We then follow the Gelt River to Middle Gelt Bridge for lunch and on into the Gelt Woods. Passing through the Gelt Woods we will pass the Roman quarry. Emerging from Gelt Woods we walk back to Brampton on local footpaths passing Capontree Wood.
Some paths may be muddy but generally the walking is on well established paths or in some cases minor roads.
There are several cafes in Brampton and Toilet facilities. Visit St Martins with the wonderful Pre-Raphaelite stained glass windows.
