A pleasant, simple walk from the centre of Grantown-on-Spey during which we'll have stunning mountain views, walk through birdsong-rich woods and stroll along riverside lanes. Climb uphill (but nothing strenuous) for a bit before heading down to River Spey, then through a park back to town. A gentle scenic wander, followed by a stop at a cafe for lunch/cake/coffee.
Paths and trails are well marked, but there may be muddy sections. No toilets on the walk, but public toilets are available in Grantown-on-Spey at the start and end of the walk.
It's possible to get to Grantown by public transport: take a bus or train to Aviemore, then a bus to Grantown. Takes about 2 hours in total.
It takes just under 1 hour to drive there, so we can also arrange car sharing. If you can offer lifts or need a lift, please contact the walk leader.
Note that the finish time of 15.30 includes a lunch stop and the drive back to Inverness. The walk itself should take between 2 and 2.5 hours.
