Loch an Eilein is picture-postcard beautiful, cloaked in the beautiful pine trees of the Rothiemurchus Forest, with a picturesque ruined castle on the island that gives the loch its name ('Loch of the Island'). This pretty circuit takes in all the best views of the loch, with a short extension around the quieter Loch Gamha.
Unfortunately the loch isn't accessible by public transport - please ask the walk leader for details about car sharing. The loch's car park has a charge - £2 per person or £5 per car.
Please sign up for this walk no later than Thursday 12th March, so I have time to co-ordinate car sharing.
