Overview

The route goes from Great Budworth, via Belmont Dairy and Hollies farms to Arley, then Arley Green, Moss End, Gravestones Farm, Pick Mere and back to Great Budworth. Apart from a long uphill pull towards the end of the walk, this is an easy walk.  Getting from field to field was mainly by kissing gates but there were a few stiles, some not in a good state of repair; there were cows in several of the fields when the recce was done.

When you get to Great Budworth, go up the main street, which is very narrow. Go past the George and Dragon pub. Follow the road round a sharp left-hand bend. About 100m further on, the road bends sharp right but on the apex of the bend there is a small road, Smithy Lane, to the left. There is parking outside the parish hall but if that is full, carry on down the road to an opening in the hedge. There is parking there on a grassed area.
