Our walk will begin in Warslow - a small Peak District village re-built in Georgian times by the Harpur Crewe family of Calke Abbey. From Warslow we will cross field paths to the Manifold Trail and then follow the former Northern terminus of the Leek & Manifold light railway line to Hulme End. We then head to Brund Mill (formally a corn mill, cotton factory & sawmill) via quiet lanes and field paths. From Brund Mill we continue along field paths with very short sections of road to the medieval settlement of School Clough and an area associated with Bronze Age Barrows - Fawfieldhead (meaning ‘multi- coloured open land’). After leaving the Parrish of Fawfieldhead we will descend to Blake Brook where an abundance of tadpoles & one solo fish were spotted on the recce. Revidge (400/401m) on a clear day will not disappoint with its 360 degree views before our return to Warslow.
