Welcome to this very ancient settlement – mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Cishella. We are in the most southerly part of Cambridgeshire and we will take our break after 3.3 miles at Cambridgeshire’s highest point. It reaches 147 metres or 495 feet but you’ll be pleased to know we don’t have to walk more than 120 feet to reach it via the Harcamlow Way. The terrain is fairly easy going with no difficult challenges, but as always keep an eye out for trip hazards and tree roots.
Park at the Village Hall just off Hall Lane, Great Chishill, Royston. SG8 8SH.
This is a short distance from the highest pub in Cambridgeshire, the excellent Pheasant where the garden affords magnificent views of the countryside. I hope you will join me here: 24 Heydon Rd, Great Chishill, Royston SG8 8SR. It's just around the corner.
Only guide dogs please.
