A bus walk from Stow-on-the-Wold. We will take the bus to Great Rissington and return on foot along the undulating lower slopes of the Dikler valley, passing through Little Rissington and Wyck Rissington. Most of the walk will be on easy tracks or through pastures. The only uphill of note is from Maugersbury to Stow-on-the-Wold. There are NO stiles!
We will meet at 11.15am by the Library in the Market Square in Stow-on-the-Wold and walk to the unmarked bus stop on Sheep Street to catch the 802 service at 11.30am (free to Concessionary card holders, otherwise £3.00 [cash or card]) arriving Great Rissington 11.50am Plenty of refreshment options on return to Stow-on-the-Wold at the end: nothing en route. Please bring a picnic which we will have at Little Rissington after about 40 minutes walking.
Meet outside the entrance to the Library/St Edward's Hall in Stow Square so we can walk to the unmarked bus stop on Sheep Street. (If you are running late the bus stop is on the far side of Sheep Street by Fleece Alley and about 20m east of the end of Church Street and opposite 'Beetroot'). Recommended free all day parking is available in the town car park adjacent to the Tesco car park (same access at the traffic lights on the A429 on the north of the town). Allow enough time to walk to the Library (5-10 minutes).
