Overview

This route follows one of the Tunbridge Wells Circular walk loops, passing through varied, undulating countryside and villages. We'll stop somewhere for elevenses and have our picnic lunch at Toad Rock.

We'll be walking at a fairly brisk pace, there are several stiles but none that are difficult and some areas prone to muddiness.

There's a good village bakery in Groombridge, 2 mins walk from the start point, which sells excellent Gypsy Tarts - just saying!

The toilet in the Spa Valley Railway station might be available if you ask at reception.

Meet at Groombridge Station (Spa Valley Railway Heritage Line) in Newton Willows, off Station Road, opposite The Junction Inn. There's also roadside parking on Station Road and a free car park opposite the village shop and post office, 5 mins walk from start.
