Overview

This walk has some quite long stretches of moderate hills but the pace will be leisurely-moderate rather than brisk. The paths have dried out a lot over the past week but could be a bit muddy if there has been recent rain. Walking boots recommended. Walking poles recommended if you use them.

We will start along a woodland path and make our way around Halton Camp to the Wendover Arm Canal. We will climb up through Cobblers Pits nature reserve and through the Chiltern Forest Golf Club, and continue to climb up Aston Hill, past a trig point in open field and through woods to our 30 minute lunch break and toilets at Wendover Woods Forest England Visitor Centre. After lunch we will make our way down through Wendover and Halton Woods back to the start.

Please bring a packed lunch or you may prefer to purchase a snack at the visitor centre.

Well behaved dogs allowed. Some may be disturbed by the proximity of the rifle range if operating.
