Based in the Scottish Borders, Eildon Ramblers is a friendlywalking group for people of all ages. We offer year-round walks to suit avariety of tastes.
Circular walk from Harestanes to the gates of Monteviot House then up through Divet Ha’ Wood and Pond Wood to Baron’s Folly on Down Law. Across fields to Deer Street and up to Lilliard’s Edge. Across fields and the A68 to the Monteith Mausoleum. Across more fields to pick up the old ‘Coffin Road’ down to Ancrum old church then up through Ancrum, across the A68 and returning to Harestanes.
Terrain is woodland and fields, estate tracks and some road, one fence to climb.
This is a challenging walk but with some beautiful views and points of interest.
Food and drink for 2 stops.
Circular walk, grade B, moderate. Hiking boots and poles are recommended.
