Overview

A chance to hike through lesser known rolling countryside that at times seems remote and a million miles from London. We take in a couple of disused railway tracks but stretch the legs on gradients and in open fields. George Bernard Shaw's old place is a curiosity while, refreshingly, the River Lee this far north is more babbling brook than crude canalised Thames tributary. Pub stop but bring a packed lunch. Strenuous pace owing to lack of daylight. Bring a torch. Could well be muddy.
