We are the Guildford Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
From The White Horse in Hascombe we join the Greensand Way, walk through Winkworth Arboretum where we stop for a picnic lunch and hopefully still see the gorgeous autumn colours. Then onto Hydons Ball and The Hurtwood returning back to Hascombe.
There is a cafe at Winkworth with outdoor seating but please bring a picnic. It should be possible to buy hot drinks depending on queues. There are also toilet facilities here. We will be using the public footpath through Winkworth but if you have NT membership it would be useful to bring your card for scanning.
Optional pub visit at the end of the walk.
There is just one stile, a few climbs, some pretty steep. We will need to keep up a decent pace due to the shorter days.
Park in the small car park opposite The White Horse pub. If the car park is full you can park in the pub car park on the understanding that you go in for a drink after the walk.
