Overview

From Haughmond Abbey the path veers south west to the village of Uffington and then follows the towpath of the old Newport to Shrewsbury canal to meet the River Severn then continuing upstream to pass the weir and the English Bridge before the loop round to Kingsland Bridge. Here we see the Buzzard Sculpture which marks the start/end of the trail. The way out of town is through the Rae Brook and Rae Brook Valleys before climbing through Bayston Hill to Lyth Hill with its airy ridge and wide panorama of Shropshire hills. A gentle introduction!
