The route starts with a short walk out of Helmsley and into Ash Dale. There is deceivingly steady climb along the Tabular Hills Walk until we emerge from the woods onto a track. Continuing along the Tabular Hills Walk up the road then back into the woods, we turn off into Riccal Dale down a steep hill. The next section is relatively flat until we head back up another steep hill for our final stretch back into Helmsley.
🅿️ Cleveland Way pay & display car park. If you're planning to stay for a drink after the walk, we recommend paying for parking all day (£7.20) or you can pay for 6 hours (£6). The machine takes either cash or card. The car park can get very busy so please leave plenty of time to find a space. If there is no space in the main car park, try the overflow car park.
🚻 Toilets in the car park at the start of the walk
🥪 You'll need to bring a packed lunch or allow time to buy something in Helmsley
🍺🍰🍦 There's pubs, cafés and an ice cream parlour, plenty of choice for a post walk snack!
