Overview

Starting from our meeting point on the north bank at the Hessle Whiting Mill, we begin with a short walk around the Hessle Country Park, before going up the steps to join the Humber Bridge (about 1.4miles crossing) where we will enjoy great views of the River Humber. Once we arrive on the south bank at Barton upon Humber we will cross Far Ings Road and walk past the local garden centre, making our way under the Humber Bridge to a picnic spot with great views of the Bridge where we will stop for lunch. There is also a small outdoor café (The Viking Café) where snacks/drinks can also be purchased.

After lunch we will be taking a walk around the Waters Edge Nature reserve, with lots of ponds and chance to see different wildlife including ducks and swans. We will then make our way back to the Humber Bridge to head back across to Hessle Country Park. There will also be the option of refreshments at the Country Park Inn to finish our walk off nicely, also with great views of the Bridge we have just walked across!
